Brazilian Butt Lifts (BBL)

Brazilian Butt Lift

Curvy, svelte buttocks have become the go-to, Hollywood glamorous look, and with the Brazilian butt lift, you can have the derriere of Beyonce or Gisele Bundchen. Imagine filling out your jeans in all the right ways, turning heads on the beach with a breathtaking bikini, or being the object of envy while dancing with your partner or spouse.

For some women, diet and exercise are not enough to have a round, perky buttocks. While cardio and sports can tone your thighs, abs and buttocks, if you don’t have the genetics and body structure for it, you may never have that extra “pop” that is all the rage. But North Florida Plastic Surgery & Aesthetic Center in Gainesville can help you achieve the perfect buttocks.

Introducing: The Brazilian Butt Lift

Brazilian butt lift surgery is now the most popular buttock augmentation procedure performed by plastic surgeons. The result of this surgery is rounder, perkier buttocks that accentuate a woman’s natural curves and adds curves for those who want more — all without using buttock implants.

At North Florida Plastic Surgery & Aesthetic Center, we strive to create the perfect look for our patients, and we often suggest the Brazilian butt lift procedure because recovery time is quick and the procedure can be combined with other surgeries. During a Brazilian butt lift, Dr. Khairalla extracts tissue and fat from an area of the body and injects the fat and tissue into varying spots on the buttocks. Usually, fat transfers are placed in the upper portion and side of the buttocks, but depending on a patient’s natural shape, injections can be made to the lower portion of the buttock as well.

Sculpting Your Look

It is possible to undergo a Brazilian butt lift without additional plastic surgery procedures. In these situations, Dr. Khairalla can sculpt your buttocks with fat transfers, removing portions from one area of the buttocks and transferring fat and tissue to other areas that need enhancement. Redistributing the fat and tissue may help you achieve your ideal butt shape without further extraction. However, for some women, the fat and tissue found at the buttocks is not enough to achieve their desired look. That is usually when Dr. Khairalla recommends additional liposuction in order to use only your own fat tissue, which is ideal because it eliminates the possibility for your body to reject the tissue. Dr. Khairalla can remove fat deposits from the thighs, hips, stomach, arms and back for use in a butt lift procedure. If you’re interested in a tummy tuck, mommy makeover or any other liposuction procedures, you may be able to have both surgeries performed at the same time.

Types of Brazilian Butt Lift Procedures

Because the Brazilian butt lift is so popular, a number of techniques have evolved to help hide insertion scarring and to better create the desired look for different body shapes and sizes.

Leg Lifts

It can be difficult to recognize ideal buttocks if there is too much skin or fat on the inner and outer portion of the thighs. Women of all ages strive to achieve “the gap” — that small window or gap that appears between the thighs. If you’ve experienced large weight loss, then you may have excess skin in the area that can hinder the appearance of your buttocks. With an incision along the crease of the groin, Dr. Khairalla can remove fat, tissue and skin to give your buttocks the appearance of a rounder, higher lift.

Miami Thong Lift

The Miami thong lift is one of the most popular of fat transfer lifts because the incision is made along the natural intergluteal cleft which hides scarring even when you are unclothed. Through liposuction, Dr. Khairalla removes unwanted fat and tissue to sculpt your buttocks and define the shape while redistributing the tissue and fat. Dr. Khairalla can also use a specific type of suture to help lift the buttocks and allow them to appear more round.

Butterfly Lift

When the Miami thong lift cannot grant you the lift and perkiness that you want, then a butterfly lift may be used as well. Through incisions at the top of your bikini line, Dr. Khairalla lifts the skin to pull the buttock up and outward, providing separation and lift.

Brazilian Butt Lift vs. Buttock Implants

Not all buttock augmentation surgeries are alike! Brazilian butt lifts allow you to change the contour of your buttocks using natural tissue and fat from your own body, which may be one reason why patients prefer Brazilian butt lifts over silicone buttocks implants.

Candidates who don’t have enough body fat to enhance their posterior may opt for buttock implants, which does not require transferring fat from one area of the body to another. The biggest disadvantages to buttock implants are that results don’t appear or feel as natural as Brazilian butt lift results.

What You Should Know About Brazilian Butt Lifts

Procedural Risks

Like many plastic surgery procedures, the Brazilian butt lift incorporates a small amount of risk. Typical side effects include numbness, swelling, and bruising. Increased pain or discomfort should be reported to Dr. Khairalla right away. As with all surgeries, there is a low risk of infection after a Brazilian butt lift.

What to Expect

The typical Brazilian butt lift procedure is finished in one day with general anesthetic administered, and most surgeries last approximately 90 minutes. However, patients who undergo more than one surgery at a time will experience a longer surgery time as well as a longer recovery time.

Recovery Time

A Brazilian butt lift provides lifelong results. The fat that is not reabsorbed by the body will remain in place as you age. It is important to live a healthy and active lifestyle to ensure optimal sculpting remains. After the procedure, patients will be given a compressive garment in order to minimize the weight placed on the buttocks. Patients should follow the recovery directions given to them by Dr. Khairalla for at least 10 days.

Am I A Candidate For Brazilian Butt Augmentation?

Ideal plastic surgery candidates are patients who are in good health and understand the risks involved as well as the possible outcomes. Patients with some existing fat in the thighs, stomach and buttocks will see better results, and thinner patients should consult with Dr. Khairalla about realistic results.
