As your dermal filler or Botox injection treatment begins, the treatment area will be numbed with a topical anesthetic. The location, status and amount of areas being treated will determine the necessary pressure and amount of injections you will receive. Your treatment will be short, lasting around 10–30 minutes and you are free to resume normal activity after your procedure. However, with both dermal fillers and botox, you should refrain from intense physical exertion for 24–48 hours and applying pressure to your face. Patients who received a dermal filler will notice immediate results, while patients who received Botox will need to wait 3–7 days to enjoy the full effects.
Dermal fillers provide patients with an immediately effective yet temporary effect. Depending on the treated area, dermal fillers may last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years.
