The first step is a virtual consultation. This allows you to consult with one of our surgeons from the comfort of your own home. Your surgeon will review your medical history and any photos you provide, then create a personalized surgical plan. You will have a chance to ask our patient coordinators any questions you may have over the phone or through email. This step saves you unnecessary travel while ensuring you feel prepared and supported.
Patients are required to attend a pre-operative appointment within two weeks before surgery. For those traveling from outside Gainesville, we accommodate same-week scheduling:

The morning after your surgery, you will return to the office for a post-operative appointment. During this visit, your surgeon will check your incisions, answer questions, and make sure your healing is progressing as expected before you travel home.
Please note: You will not be able to drive after surgery due to anesthesia and medication. We require that you arrange for a responsible adult to drive you to and from surgery, stay with you overnight, and bring you to your follow-up visit the next morning.

Many offer comfortable accommodations, easy access to local dining, and proximity to our practice for your pre-op and post-op visits. If you’d like recommendations, our team will gladly help you select a nearby hotel that suits your needs.
We want every out-of-town patient to feel supported through their recovery. Our team provides clear post-operative instructions, ongoing communication, and 24/7 access to our on-call staff member for urgent concerns. With careful planning, most patients are ready to travel home safely the day after their surgery.
