At your appointment, your licensed aesthetician or cosmetic dermatologist will sanitize the treatment area. Lidocaine will be injected to adequately numb the treatment area before beginning. A grid will be drawn on the area to guide the injections and patients typically receive around 20 injections. After the injections patients may wish to ice the area and take pain relief medication.
After your Kybella® treatment it is normal to experience discomfort, stinging and/or burning sensations. Also, the treated area may be firm, swollen, sore and bruised. This will subside as days pass and fat cells destruct. Downtime will depend entirely on the patient and their symptoms. Results are typically noticed 4–6 weeks after treatment.
